Mark's Favorite Chili Recipe

(Betty Crocker crowd size version)


Ingredients

4   lbs ground beef (ground moose also works)
8   medium onions, peeled & chopped
4

cloves of garlic, crushed
4   28-oz cans of stewed tomatoes

  16-oz cans of red kidney beans, drained (keep liquid)
1
15-oz can of tomato sauce

  tablespoons sugar
3   tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2

tablespoons salt

Directions
  1. Cook and stir ground beef , onion and garlic in large pot until meat is brown.
  2. Drain off any fat.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, reserved kidney bean liquid, tomato sauce and seasonings.
  4. Heat to boiling and then reduce heat.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 90 minutes.
  6. Stir in kidney bean and simmer for another 15 minutes.
Serve or package for freezing (makes a fast meal when time is short)
